The Wheel of Time Season 1 is another very good fantasy adaptation. More than just a fascinating story it is worth watching for the impending clash between the forces of darkness and light. Based on a series of novels of the same name, The Wheel of Time Season 1 is a very well-balanced introduction to the source material.
Fans of the fantasy genre unfamiliar with the books are going to love this series. And fans of the original books on the other hand will most probably feel disappointed for expecting so much more from just a single season.
I believe it is just unfair to compare the books with the series side by side. I think a book as a different medium provides so much more detail as opposed to a TV Series with many inherent limitations. And this series in particular deserves an honest review on its own.
About the TV Series
Very easy to follow from the start, this series feels very well timed and organized. Focused on a group of emotionally knit lead characters, the series builds on an intriguing quest. The series also does a great job of not detracting from its core theme.
With some decent character building, all the lead characters are both likable and memorable. Some very strong performances enhance the experience.
Although the storyline is very straightforward, the fascination surrounding this fantasy world and the currency of magical powers in it is something really entertaining. More than that the aspects of political intrigue and the scale of an impending threat make it binge-worthy.
Is The Wheel of Time Season 1 Worth Watching?
The Wheel of Time Season 1 is a fantasy series worth watching. A fascinating story with some good action and decent CGI makes it a great TV Series to binge-watch. A must-watch for fantasy genre fans.
